From 6 to 15 July as part of the program LUXURY IN RUSSIA Russian journalists visited several Italian cities. Representatives of the mass media, including our magazine, have become acquainted with innovations in the field of furniture and furnishings, of which we offer you a brief summary.
Volcanic stone and ceramic
The factory Made In Lava specializes in furniture pieces produced with volcanic stone. The company founded two years ago is located in the province of Viterbo (Lazio region) where various productions are concentrated, known for singular, original and exclusive products in the field of bathroom ceramics. Designer Sabrina Zibellini, presenting her own collection of tables, benches and sinks, underlined: "Volcanic stone is durable, does not scratch, is not afraid of temperatures, does not absorb moisture and does not break. A ceramic coating is applied over the stone, enamel, which is fired in a special oven at a temperature of 1000 °С. The design and color can be chosen any: there are denser tones that cover the structure of the stone, there are those semi-transparent that allow the natural design to be glimpsed. There are three techniques for applying the paint: by pulverizing it, by painting it by hand or by pouring it onto the surface of the object. The feet of the tables can be made of stainless steel or chestnut wood.” The collection is made with three types of stone: Sicilian basalt, Bagnoregio, Peperino.
